How much is customs clearance cost in South Africa?
Customs clearance charges, Vat, and Taxes are not fixed; they change according to the type of goods. Many importers know that trick, but they don’t know how they calculate the customs clearance and related costs. Here is how they do that:
- The total landed cost includes the carrier’s cost. Duties will be applied to add that cost to the costs of your goods.
- Logistics costs.
- Customs broker’s cost. We will handle the customs cost if you use DDP shipping from us.
- SACU members (SA, Switzerland, Namibia) will be charged the same price.
Duties
On average, the charge is around 18%. 0-45% is the range applied to various products. 14-18% rate is applied to the following products:
- Electric guitar.
- Computer accessories.
- Electric Equipment.
