CUSTOMS CLEARANCE DOCUMENTS FOR SHIPPING FROM CHINA TO KENYA
The customs clearance documents for shipping from China to Kenya mainly include the following items:
- IDF Import Declaration Form: This is an important document required by Kenya Customs for declaring detailed information on imported goods.
- MCI Marine Cargo Insurance: To ensure the safety of goods during transportation, a marine insurance policy is required. Please note that the Kenyan government stipulates that all goods exported to Kenya must be insured by a Kenyan insurance company and does not accept CIF terms.
- COC Certificate of Conformity: According to the Kenya Standards Act and the Imported Product Quality Act, all products exported to Kenya must pass the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Standard Conformity Verification Program (PVOC) before shipment and obtain a Product Conformity Certificate (COC). This certificate is a necessary document for customs clearance with Kenya Customs.
- COMMERCIAL INVOICE: Three original copies are required to prove the value of the goods and the information of both parties to the transaction.
- Packing List: You also need to provide 3 originals, which list in detail the packaging, quantity, weight and other information of the goods.
- Bill of Lading: This is the transportation certificate of the goods, proving that the goods have been taken over by the carrier and are ready to be shipped to the destination. If the voyage is fast and the bill of lading cannot be sent in time, you can apply for telex release.
